The Adroit Journal is now taking submissions for its fifth Summer Mentorship Program, open to high school students interested in writing poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. The program will be handled online from June 25 ’til August 5 and is completely free to those chosen to participate. Applications may be filled out via their submission manager. Applicants are required to submit a writer’s statement and a writing sample. (Submitting an academic transcript is optional.)
The summer Mentorship Program program involves a lot of workshopping, and it is recommended that those who submit are comfortable receiving commentary and critiques. It is not intended to be formal, though, and has the flexibility that students might need during the summer. Participants will be able to share and discuss their work, to explore new ideas, and to improve on old ones.
Students have until April 7 to submit applications, unless seats are filled before that date.
