Kim Addonizio @ UAB’s Writers’ Series

A week from today, on Wednesday, October 19, the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Visiting Writers’ Series will be offering its second reading, featuring poet Kim Addonizio. The series of creative writing readings and workshops by nationally awarded authors is free and open to the the public.

Among her published books are the poetry-writing guide Ordinary Genius, the poetry collection Mortal Trash, and the story collection The Palace of Illusions. Addonizio has been recognized worldwide for her writing, and she has been awarded two Pushcart Prizes, an NEA Fellowship, and a Guggenheim Fellowship.

Addonizio will read at 6:00 PM in Hulsey Recital Hall located on UAB’s campus. For more information or to ask questions, visit or call 205-934-4011.

The first reading in the series, given by poet Joseph Wood, was held on September 21. The next reading, which will be accompanied by a workshop, will feature fiction writer Dana Walrath.
