The Kentuck Festival of the Arts is an annual, community-funded art festival hosted on the grounds of the Kentuck Art Center in Northport, Alabama. On the third weekend in October, folk artists from all across the country gather to display their works to the public.
There are also live and interactive demonstrations from select craftspeople, ranging from blacksmiths to fabric artists, and free activities for all age groups to experience the arts firsthand. The University of Alabama’s Book Arts program and Huntsville’s Green Pea Press will be among the demonstrating artists.
Additionally, bands, such as the Spook House Saints and Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers, and spoken-word poets will take to the stages both days of the festival and are free of charge to see.
Admission to the festival is $10, and concession stands and food trucks offer food inside.
