Three Mondays of Poetry: Jackie Trimble

April is National Poetry Month! And to celebrate the “cruellest month,” a partnership of schools in Montgomery are hosting Three Mondays of Poetry.

First, Auburn University at Montgomery will host a poetry workshop with award-winning poet Tony Crunk on April 4. Crunk’s book, Living in the Resurrection, won the Yale Younger Poets prize in 1994. The workshop is limited to ten participants.

On April 11, the creative writing magnet at Booker T. Washington Magnet High School will host Jacqueline. Trimble, who will read from her forthcoming collection, American Happiness. Dr. Trimble teaches English at Alabama State University.

Then, on April 18, local poets Joyce Kelley, Ami Mattison, and Stephen Paul Bray will read their original works at KRU on Mount Meigs Rd.
